Family emergency!
Well my grandson’s 7th birthday was held at the skateing rink on Jan 15th and they were just starting skating. My daughter went around and on her third round fell and broke a bone in her right wrist. Needless to say she and her Daddy missed the cake and presents part and all the rest of the party to go to th E.R. She was to see a bone specialist the 27th of Jan. and we had a small snow storm and the Dr. didn’t come in from Springfield because of the road conditions but didn’t tell my daughter. So they rescheduled her appt. for Feb. 3rd and when we went to that the Dr. said it was growing together wrong and she had two choices. To have it rebroke or to have surgery to put a titanium splint on. She opted for the surgery. Today is her surgery. Her appt was for 10:00am and she and Dad got there at 9:00. It’s 4:30pm and have had an update from Dad that they have taken her in and brought her back out twice and now say the may take her in 15 min. The surgery will be an hour and then she will be in recovery for another hour and an hour for the drive home. Have to say I will be so relieved when 8pm gets here and everyone’s home.
Military Brat
For those of you who may not already know. I am an air force brat and my Mother was a school teacher. To save money in the summer my Momma and I would move in with her Mother and Father and my Daddy would live in the barracks on base where ever he was stationed. During the school years we would live in a house all three together between Daddys air force base and the school where momma was teaching.
Was just remembering back when I lived with Grandma and Grandpa Smallwood. I was one of the younger grandkids and my older cousins were always getting me to do things to grandma that they knew better than to do. Once over at their house they gave me a rubber snake and told me to throw it on the ground in front of my grandma. I did just what they said and said “hey grandma” and she screamed and threw whatever she had in her hands and jumped back. I think that is only one time that I got a spanking from my grandma that I remember.
When my older cousins would come over to grandmas we would walk barefoot down to the 2nd pond to go swimming. It was close to grandpas truck patch. The truck patch was for things that took up too much room in the garden, corn, watermelon, cantelop, squash. We would go swimming in the muddy old pond every time they came over. We had special swimsuits just for the pond. They would talk me into stepping into fresh cow piles on the way down to the pond then give me a big green persimmon to eat on the way home. I just love thinking back on the fun times we had as children growing up in the ozarks.
Conservation of Energy.
There are many ways of conserving energy as in electrical energy that can be done at home, in the office where ever electricity is used. Not that we should go around and unplug all our electrical devices but we should be aware of the trickle of energy that is being used when we leave our cell phone chargers plugged into the outlet.
Getting in the habit of turning out the light when you leave a room is another conservation effort. We are still working on phasing out all the light bulbs to new energy efficient light bulbs.
Now on the other hand I want to use my share of electricity, after all I have to pay the bill.
This is where I am interested in the aspect of generating new energy sources. Solar power and wind generated power sources also ways to increase the electricity that is produced now.
Happy New Year
Well we’ve headed into the new year in full force and have worked through some difficulties and are ready to move forward.
There is snow on the ground and it makes things look so peaceful and reminds me of a big white blanket covering over the ground. It’s time for things to rest and get the nutrients needed for a great new spring full of fresh new beauty that comes from the earth. All in due time. We will see new buds on the trees and new flowers that come up from the places where they were seeded previously.
The possibilities are endless for the future. Now is the time for planning. Putting things into perspective. You can leave things the way they are and just see what comes, or you can make a blueprint of the space that you have and rearrange your life to make it the way you want.
We will be planning on spring getting here and having the ability to make a garden and grow our own vegetables. Getting out in the fresh air and working in the soil. Nothing is more enjoyable than to plant tiny seeds in the ground and nurture the seedlings into plants and then harvest the produce from your own garden.
Then we plan on taking the time to go fishing and try and catch our own food. Along with the fun of being by the water and just the pleasure of relaxing, casting and reeling and hoping the fish will bite. Oh the anticipation is growing now and we are looking forward to having a wonderful new year. We hope you will follow along with us and enjoy our posts.
Christmas Holiday is here!!
Hope everyone reading this is having a wonderful Christmas holiday. We will be celebrating Jesus birthday in our home with our family and friends this year. We have so much to be thankfull for, our close knit family who stand up for us when the going gets tough. The snow isn’t here yet but I’m sure it won’t be long before it blankets the ground and causes havock on the highways. Hope all that are traveling this season will have safe trips to and from their destinations. So much still left to do. Wrapping presents, preparing for the meal. Am going to take time with it all and enjoy. This is supposed to be a celebration and shouldn’t be meant to stress out ones who don’t have as much to give. Sometimes just being present is the best gift you can give.
E is for Energy!!!
We’ll be spelling out some of the policies of our company in the near future. Would like to go ahead and present the E to all readers before the end of 2010.
The energy we speak of is our bodily energy as well as our natural resources. Our bodies are exerting energy in every thing we do. We like to recommend some outdoor activities to promote healthier lifestyles. Just a brisk walk in the winter air will help relieve work related stress.
As for our natural resources we are concerned for the cleanliness of our water and air. We are looking for alternitives for fuel and more, saving some of our clean water and air for ancesters in future generations.
Solar power is one of our favorite subjects as is wind powered energy sources.
Update Ending 2010!!
We would like to apologize for not being as informing as some of our commenters have suggested. This has been a difficult past few months for DEO Global as we lost our Mother in law to lung cancer this past July and we’ve shed a few tears at our loss and have been growing all the while behind the scenes. We’re in the red but not to be alone we understand that the United States Government is broke as of Saturday. We are actually advertising for the different companies that you see articles about and are listed to the right side of the page you just click on the link and go directly to their catalog or webpage what ever the case.

What a wonderful Halloween Eve
We have had the best day getting ready for Halloween and doing laundry and cleaning a little house. Have had help clearing out in the field where we can acutally see the barn now.
We are planning on doing some extra cleaning out in the well house, cellar, chicken house and barn. I’m not sure which will come first but with the weather we had today, maybe it’ll stay nice a little longer. I’m not looking forward to paying my propane bill. The only thing that has saved us is a monthly payment plan. That and the fact that when we had our siding put on our house they insulated it at the same time. Cutting our heating bill almost in half.
Have had three trick or treaters, all grandkids. They are now in the spare bedroom sleeping, as Grandma put their candy away for the night.
If you are thinking about shopping with Amazon why not click on it here they will pay me a percentage if you shop through DEO Global LLC. It won’t ad any to your cost just gives me some advertisement and I give them advertisement in return.
